Story
The Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service is a vital community service with its missions always increasing.
I finish work on June 30, and we all know that a man needs a hobby, so I am going to ride tracks from Woolgoolga to Tamworth for this charity mountain bike ride.
UPDATE: 3 September
MEDICAL PROBLEM; I have been training well and have lost 4.5 kilos since finishing work. However the last two weeks I have had the worst flu I have ever experienced and went to the Doctors on Friday. I appear to have a heart problem, my heart rate is up from my normal 55 to 102 and is an irregular beat. I am on heart medicine and go back for more tests on Tuesday.
On medical advice, I am withdrawing from the bike ride. I am trying to see if a substitute rider can ride for me, as I have paid all my ($700) fees.
I intend to reimburse my sponsors for their kind donations, it is the right thing to do.
